“Be supposed to” ve “be to” ifadeleri kişilerden yapmaları beklenen işler için de kullanılırlar. “be to” kurallar, kanunlar, emirler, direktifler ile belirlenen haller ya da davranışlar için daha uygundur.
Örnekler:
You are not supposed to do that.
Bunu yapmamalısınız.
You are to stop when the light is red.
Kırmızı ışık yandığında durman gerekir (durmalısın).
